Arturo Gallegos Vargas

Arturo Gallegos Vargas passed away at the Richard L. Owens Hospice home, on Friday June 30th, 2023 at the age of 80 years. Arturo was born to Valente Gallegos Mercado & Belén Vargas in Ojocaliente Zacatecas, Mexico. Arturo served his military service May 5, 1963 and again on October 15, 1969. He is survived by his wife Juana Diaz together with his 5 children, 18 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Arturo and Juana grew up together since Juana was the age of 6. They grew up in the town of Ocotlan Jalisco, Mexico where they also went to the same schools and worked at the same jobs. Arturo and Juana married on December 20, 1965. He was preceded in death by all seven of his siblings, Tomas, Salvador, Jesus, Refugio, David, Rodolfo & Sofia Gallegos. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Arturo had a huge passion for gardening, playing Dominoes, and telling stories. His love for gardening was what made everything he planted grow. If anyone needed advice for gardening, there he was. If anyone had dying plants, his love and care would revive them. He would care for his neighbors yards, and some would even go as far as picking him up just to receive his help. Arturo loved when all his family would visit, especially because everyone would play his favorite games. He loved winning, but when it came to losing, once his money was out he was done. Arturo loved to chat, but specifically loved telling stories. Most of the time they were made up, but no one seemed to mind because everyone would get a good laugh out of them. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 12:30pm on Wednesday, July the 5th at the Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Service, followed by his burial at 1:45pm at the Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Arturo nació de Valente Gallegos Mercado y Belén Vargas en Ojocaliente Zacatecas, México. Arturo cumplió su servicio militar el 5 de mayo de 1963 y nuevamente el 15 de Octubre de 1969. Le sobreviven su esposa Juana Díaz junto con sus 5 hijos, 18 nietos y 7 bisnietos. Arturo y Juana crecieron juntos desde que Juana tenía 6 años. Crecieron en el pueblo de Ocotlán Jalisco, México, donde también fueron a las mismas escuelas y trabajaron en los mismos trabajos. Arturo y Juana se casaron el 20 de diciembre de 1965. Le precedieron en la muerte sus siete hermanos, Tomás, Salvador, Jesús, Refugio, David, Rodolfo y Sofía Gallegos. Además de pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos, Arturo tenía una gran pasión por la jardinería, jugar dominó y contar historias. Su amor por la jardinería era lo que hacía crecer todo lo que plantaba. Si alguien necesitaba un consejo para la jardinería, ahí estaba. Si alguien tuviera plantas muriendo, su amor y cuidado las revivía. Cuidaba los jardines de sus vecinos, y algunos incluso hasta lo recogerían solo para recibir su ayuda. A Arturo le encantaba cuando toda su familia lo visitaba, especialmente porque todos jugaban sus juegos favoritos. Le encantaba ganar, pero cuando se trataba de perder, una vez que se le acababa el dinero, se retiraba. A Arturo le encantaba conversar, pero específicamente le encantaba contar historias. La mayoría de las veces eran inventadas, pero no importaba porque todos se reían mucho a causa de ellas. Sus familiares, amigos y todos los que lo conocieron y apreciaron lo extrañarán profundamente. Los familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir a su velorio a las 12:30 p.m el Miércoles 5 de Julio en el Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Service, seguido por su entierro a la 1:45 p.m en Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
