Jerald K. Williams

Jerald K. Williams, 70, of Peoria passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. He was born on March 6, 1956 in Peoria to Samuel Boston and Bessie Williams. Jerald and Linda Sholtz were married on January 20, 1979, in the middle of the Blizzard of 1979. Determined not to let a little, or a lot, of snow stand in the way, Jerald and his best man, Scott, dug their way through the snow so the wedding could go on. Jerald is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, William Williams of Peoria and Jarad Williams of Dixon, IL; 3 granddaughters, Jennifer Williams, Christine Williams and Destiny Williams, all of Peoria; sisters, Donna Fae Trout of Flanagan, IL, Cindy Williams of Peoria, Cheryl Behm of Peoria and Kathy Gibson of Peoria; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; four brothers; nephew, Marshall Bernard; best friend, Scott Ford and beloved dog, Fonzie. Jerald worked in the Maintenance Department at Walmart and enjoyed the simple things in life that brought him the most happiness. He loved fishing, watching television and movies, especially old Westerns, and had a special appreciation for old cars and attending car shows. Music was also an important part of his life, particularly rock and roll from the 1950s and 1960s. Jerald loved telling stories, drinking coffee, playing games on his phone, and enjoying a good meal. He especially looked forward to Thanksgiving. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his girls. He also loved his church family at Connect Church in Washington. Jerald will be remembered for the stories he shared, the things he loved, and the time he cherished with those closest to him. Jerald was also proud to be an organ and tissue donor through Gift of Hope. Through his generosity, he was able to help 75 patients. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Jerald’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 12-2PM at Connect Church, 1750 Washington Rd., Washington, IL 61571.
