Lorene F. Scott

Lorene F. Scott, 83, of East Peoria, passed away at 3:30 PM Tuesday January 22, 2025 at OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria IL. She was born September 3, 1940 in Peoria, IL to Etta L. Payne Crawford and George E. Crawford. She married Glenn W. Sommer on December 6, 1959 in East Peoria. She later married William M. Scott on May, 29, 1981. He survives. Also surviving are daughter, Renee Sommer of East Peoria, Tim(Becky)Sommer of Elmwood, and Eric(Veronica)Sommer of East Peoria; one brother Bob(Betty)Bohm of East Peoria; six grandchildren, Kayleigh Sommer and husband Ross Evans, Christopher, Zachery, Tyson Sommer all of East Peoria, Amy(Adam)McDonald of Pekin, Tracy(Nathan)Peters of Huntington Beach California: six great- grandchildren; Niece, Amanda Bohm and Nephew, Brian(Candace)Bohm and great niece Megan Brownfield all of East Peoria. Lorene graduated for East Peoria Community High School class of 1958. Lorene was homemaker and raised her 3 kids but also worked outside of the home at Cilco, East Peoria High School main office and was a secretary for George Zima Architect. Lorene loved her family and always supported her kids in all the sporting events and other activities they were involved in. She also was very involved in her grandchildren's lives whether it be babysitting or following them to soccer and softball games, band events, or Robotic competitions, picking them up or taking them to school. Her grandkids were here life. Lorene enjoyed spending time with her brother and her many friends at Eastside Center. She enjoyed going out to eat with them and sitting around drinking coffee and talking.. Not sure if there was a lot of exercising going on. If she needed to get out of the house you could find her at Kohl's. In her younger days she enjoyed riding motorcycles and Atvs with her sons and husband. Lorene also like to fish and be outside. She like to travel and had the opportunity to go to Hawaii and Alaska with her brother and sister in law. She was a Golden State Warriors, St. Louis Cardinal and Kansas City Chiefs fan and watched a lot of sports on T.V with her husband. Lorene was very much loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date and time. Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL
