Luise Maria Peirson

Luise M Peirson of Morton, IL and Susquehanna, PA. Born in Plainfield, NJ. Preceded in death by her parents Adolph D Neiemyer and Louise (Von Ahsen), her husband William D Peirson, her son William D (Rick), and her daughter Jeane L. Survived by daughter Suzanne E Peirson (Pegi Peirson), Kathy L Peirson (Earl Mullenax), grandson Michael D. Mullenax, grandson Nicholas W Sprouse, sister-in-law Judy Parker (Bill), and three step grandchildren, Brittany, Earl Mullenax Jr and Katelynn Mirabito, and their children. An only child Luise had four close cousins, George and John Niemeyer and Audrey and Gail Von Ashen. As a teen she was a Rainbow girl and she was on the Ziggety Boom club, a cheering squad. She attended Scotch Plains Fanwood schools. She enjoyed driving her 58 Chevrolet around the Watching Reservation. She belonged to a special group of women who met monthly, Judy Pedicini, Gail Schmeisser and Sheila Prince. She was preceded by her lifelong friend Martha Morgan Manger. She loved the Jersey Shore, a love she passed on to her children. Luise touched many lives. A devoted wife and mother, her children and grandchildren were everything to her. She was a brownie leader for both of her daughter's troops, a Cub Scout den leader for her son, and often the room mother at school. She was also a member of Fanwood Presbyterian where she was in charge of the nursery. Her home was open to her children's friends who ate many wonderful suppers. A graduate of Berkley Business School, she managed offices for the two family restaurants, The Old Heidelburg and the Black Eagle Inn. She went on to a successful career with over 20 years with Metropolitan Life. After retiring, she went on to study at the New York Botanical Garden, became a florist and opened her own flower shop, German Valley Flowers and Gifts. After retiring again, she split her time between her daughter's homes in PA and IL. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 13th, 2024 at Schmidt-Haller Cremation and Burial Services with visitation held 1 hour prior to services. A celebration of life will be held in New Jersey in April. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude.
