Roberta "Robbie" Ann Duncan

Roberta Duncan, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on July 29th at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home after a brief battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She was surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends. Robbie was born November 3, 1953 to Mary O. Geddes (McCartney) and Robert Geddes, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Mike Duncan who passed away in 2023. A graduate of Peoria Central High School, Robbie was a member of the first graduating class of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program at ICC in 1975. She dedicated her career to helping others as an occupational therapist, working in hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and home health care. In November 1976, Robbie married Mike, and together they built a loving home with their two children, Andy and Jolie. She was a devoted mother and later a doting “Gaga” to her three grandchildren: Vivi, Luca, and Nash. A gifted artist, Robbie especially enjoyed doing art projects with her grandchildren, sharing her creativity and love with each of them. Robbie was also a passionate volunteer. She sewed Sojourn Bears for adult cancer patients, supported individuals with special needs through the PUP Program, and gave her time at the Church Mouse thrift shop. Her deep faith and compassion for others were reflected in her active involvement at First English Lutheran Church and various support groups. She loved to travel, especially with Mike. Together, they explored the country from Washington to Florida to Maine. Her favorite destination was Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, Canada, which she described as feeling like heaven. Most recently, she fulfilled a dream of visiting the Christmas Markets of Europe, creating unforgettable memories. Robbie is survived by her son, Andy Duncan (Lacey Korth) of Elmwood; her daughter, Jolie Duncan (Jose Macias) of Schaumburg; three cherished grandchildren; her brothers, Gary (Debbie) Geddes and Steve Geddes; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sadie. Robbie’s family has arranged a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria. Reverend Richard Wehrs will officiate. A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. also on Friday at the church. Cremation has been entrusted to Schmidt-Haller Burial & Cremation Services in Peoria.
