Russell Henry Sisk

Russell, 91, of Chillicothe, Illinois passed away at his home on November 30, 2023. Russell was born to Wilma Gasaway (Sisk) on October 9, 1932 in Ransom, Il. Russell served in the United States Navy from 4/4/52 to 2/29/72, retiring after 20 years. Following, he worked at Champion Manufacturing Industries. Russell had a passion for all things Navy; ships, books, and movies. He liked reading and listening to historical non-fiction books in his spare time. During his service in the Navy and after retirement, Russell was able to enjoy a lot of travelling. He married Bert Orr in 1990 and was blessed with a large, tight-knitted extended family. The two of them spent an incredible amount of time together enjoying one another's company, travelling and spoiling their King Charles Spaniel, Bucky. Russell loved to take Bucky for long walks around their neighborhood and were practically inseparable. He got great joy from photography and videography, creating wonderful keepsake memories over the years to add to his vivid story-telling. Russell enjoyed playing cards, camping, golf, vegetable gardening-with a special interest in tomatoes, and appreciated a good glass of red wine. More than anything, he cherished time with his family. Russell was extremely family-oriented and active in the lives of his loved ones over the years. He will be missed incredibly, but will remain in the hearts of many. Proceeding in death were his mother, Wilma Sisk; father, William Sisk; Wife, Bert Sisk; sister; Billie Antonacci; his beloved dog, Bucky Boy and cat companion, Patrick. Surviving his is his son, Robert Sisk of Chillicothe, step son Ed Orr, stepdaughter Cindy Walker (Rusty), four grandchildren Jennifer Beebe (Ryne), Shawnna McGarvey (Jeremy), Chris Barry, Shyanne Smith (Dennis), Derek Walker (Sunny), and Montana Cox (Brian). Also surviving are 4 great grandchildren, Zach Craig (Amanda), Austin Craig, Leo McGarvey;Avett Smith, Regan Walker, Phoenix Walker, Angelina Vissering, Dylan Cox, McKenzie Cox, and Abe Cox. Also surviving are Great Great GrandchildrenZach Craig Jr. and Jaxyn Craig. Per Russell's wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private grave-side military service will take place for family and close friends. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Schmidt Haller Burial and Cremation Services.
