Donald “Donnie” G. Thompson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald “Donnie” G. Thompson, age 64, of Tremont, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was born to Jack and Betty (Hood) Thompson on March 19, 1958 in Fort Smith, AR. He married Denise Utley on April 24, 1981 in Peoria. Donnie is survived by his loving wife Denise of Tremont, children, Alisa (Brad) Pierce of Pekin, Jake (Christina) Thompson of Princeville, Katelyn (Jon) Pierce of Washington, Jordan (Kristen) Thompson of Tremont, and Trey (Emma) Thompson of Navarre, FL, grandchildren, Gabe, Mallory, Marcus, Asher, Natalie, Zekk, Will, Ethan, Eli, Izzy, Addie, and Cece, sisters, Jeanie Stafford, Cathy McGehee, Patricia Mathews, Nancy Dowell and Mary Ann (Mike) Thomas, all of OK, step-sister, Sammie (Ted) Inman of OK, step-brother, Scott (Lisa) Hutcheson of IN, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, step-mother, Annabelle Thompson, and brothers, Jack Thompson Jr. and Mark Thompson. Donnie worked as a Construction Supervisor for Mid Illinois and later for Venovich Construction, retiring in 2018. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 237 out of East Peoria. In his free time, Donnie enjoyed camping, golfing, and taking road trips to visit family. He was a fan of Elvis music and Oklahoma University Sooner football. He cherished time spent with family and was always willing to help with renovations and home remodeling projects. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM at El Vista Baptist Church. Pastor Joey Watt will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours before the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
