James Hubert Brown passed away Monday, December 28th 2020 at OSF Hospital in Peoria Illinois, after complications from Covid 19. James Hubert Brown was born to Rachel D. Brown and Hubert Brown on June 12th 1950 in Detroit Michigan. He was raised in Clarksville, Tennessee until he was an adult and moved to Illinois. He met Patricia J Alexander, when he moved to Illinois. They were married on June 27th 1970, she survives. Together they had two children, James Eric Brown and Tricia Rae Brown (Dixon). James loved education and learning new things. He was an excellent student and excelled at teaching other people what he learned. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1968. He then went on to attend Illinois Central College, where he earned his associates in Arts and Sciences in 1986. After that, he attended Olivet Nazarene University, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in 1990 and his Master Degree in 1994, both in Theology. He was ordained as a Nazarene Pastor in 1990 and served the Nazarene Church for over 25 years. He was a fantastic singer, who loved to sing and enjoyed music very much. James was an avid golfer. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings, Alabama Crimson Tide, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Peoria High Lions. He coached JFL football for Woodruff Warriors for 4 years, which he loved. He loved racecars and hotrods. He especially loved watching the Indy 500 and John Force. He was excellent at electronics especially computers. He could build and take apart computers like a professional. However, of all the things he loved, he loved his family the most. One of his biggest honors was being a grandfather. James was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, and son. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of fifty years: Patricia of Creve Coeur. His daughter Tricia (Damarvis) of Peoria, a daughter-in-law, Renee of Eureka. Three grandchildren Damarvis II, Taylor both from Peoria; and Albany of Eureka, Il. He also leaves behind two sisters, Judy (Billy) Mclesky, Dorothy (Nathan) Kennedy, and one brother, Howard (Marla) Brown all of Clarksville, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. James was an incredible man. A model example of a Christian man, husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He knew this home on earth was just temporary. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. . There will be a memorial service, on Saturday, January 2nd 2020, 2:00 pm at The North Pekin Church of the Nazarene, 126 Main Street North Pekin, Il 61554. Social distancing and masks will be required.
