Marilyn Kay Lipps Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert Lipps, 89, of Morton, Illinois, formerly of East Peoria, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 27, 2022 followed by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn Lipps, 83, 13 hours later on the same day. Robert “Bob”, and Marilyn were married June 28, 1958 in Peoria. Bob was born March 7, 1932 in Peoria to Ewald and Bertha (Stauf) Lipps. Marilyn was born August 19, 1938 in Peoria to Clarence “Mick” and Blanche (Routh) Miller. Bob went to Peoria High School, and during his senior year began working at Caterpillar as a Draftsman. In 1952, he joined the United States Air Force, and served 4 years before returning to Caterpillar. He retired in 1992 as an Engineer. Marilyn went to Woodruff High School, and after graduation began working at Caterpillar, where she met Bob. After marriage, she stayed home for 10 years before returning to Caterpillar where she retired in 1994. Bob, and Marilyn loved to travel, go fishing in their favorite spot (Chetek, WI), golf, and do anything outdoors. They truly were one of a kind and will be missed every day. They brought joy to all our family events, and loved to laugh. They enjoyed winters in Gulf Shores, AL, and spending time with many friends, and family. They were the best parents, siblings, and grandparents. They are survived by son, Steve (Terri) Lipps, of Fort Myers, FL; daughter, Cheryl (Gene) Bullard, of Germantown Hills, IL; grandchildren, Jeremy (Michelle) Bullard, Amber (Jason) Reece, Corey (Haily) Lipps, Colten Lipps; great-grandchildren, Zane, Madden, Tripp, Myla, and Graham. Marilyn is survived by her brothers, Phil (Joan) Miller, of Boulder, CO, and Scott (Teri) Miller, of Brownburg, IN. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded, and per their wishes, a Celebration of Life will occur at a later date. Please send any memorials to the charity of your choice in their name.
