Marilyn May Meeks, 89 of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Marilyn was born on May 22, 1932 in Bona, MO, to Orville and Lois Freeze. Two brothers, Gerald and Loren Freeze and one sister, Thetia Lowry. She married Francis Meeks on May 20, 1951 in Eureka Springs, ARK. Surviving are her nine grandchildren, Shawn (Karen) Meeks of East Peoria, IL., Brian Meeks (Shirley Ulrich) of East Peoria, Scott (Stephanie) Coultas of Texas, Andrew (Sierra) Meeks, and Zachary, William, Jason Meeks all of Rockford, IL., Spencer Garrity of Calif, and Derek Meeks of Chillicothe, IL. Seven great-grand-children , Reid and Jacob Meeks of East Peoria, Chance Meeks of East Peoria, Carter, Dylan, and Stella Coultas of Texas, and Ridge Meeks of Princeville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and both of her sons Danny and Ricky Meeks. Marilyn’s first and only love in life was her family, she was truly the most generous and caring person to all. She retired from Bemis Bag in 1997 after 40 years of service. It was the Meeks family request that cremation rites be accorded with no services. Arrangements were handled through Schmidt-Haller Burial & Cremation Services.
