Pamela Kaye List

Our beloved Pamela Kaye List passed away on January 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with Prion disease, a rare and aggressive neurological disorder. Born on June 12, 1957, Pam was known for her warmth, generosity, and the loving spirit she brought into every room she entered. Pam has been reunited with her mother, Verda, and father, Kenneth, in the peaceful rest of God’s embrace. She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Nelson, her children, Jenny (Jon), Jason (Liz), and Tammy (Ryan), her siblings Pat (Wayne), Dale (Shawna), Ron (Pam), Al, Paul, and Paulette (Danny), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Sara, Hailey, Hunter, Allie, and Wyatt. Pam’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and countless friends she touched by her love and kindness. While Pam would say raising her three children was her greatest accomplishment, she would tell you the title of “Grammy” to her six grandchildren was her greatest joy and privilege. Pam also found deep fulfillment in providing in-home daycare, where her caring heart and nurturing spirit impacted the lives of many children and families. Her creativity flourished through her stamping hobby, which brought her not only the joy of friendship, fun, and laughter but also a way to show love to those she held dear. Despite facing many challenges, Pam’s compassion never wavered. She continued to support her family and extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Pam was a beautiful soul – known for her enormously generous heart and joyful, friendly demeanor. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and appreciated, whether it was a lifelong friend or a stranger she befriended in minutes at the check-out line. Each knew they had encountered a rare kindness in this world. Pam will be missed more than words can express. She will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged enough to know and love her. Ways to Honor Pam’s Life In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Pam to either of the following: 1) Richard Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, IL. We are in awe of the care Pam received and of the incredible work hospice homes do for families during one of the gravest times of their lives. Donations are crucial to fund needs such as specialized equipment, bereavement counseling, comfort items, and other vital aspects of hospice care. 2) Our Caring Closet, Wilmington, IL. Pam supported this charity in her local community which provides household goods and clothing for those in need, distributed in a dignified atmosphere. Pam will be cremated by Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services. Her immediate family is taking time to grieve and will arrange a celebration of life at a later date.
